Study the information about ‘each’ and ‘every’.
1. We use each when we talk about two people or things.
My friend and I each ordered a salad to start with.

2. We can use each and every when we talk about more than two things.

Every child at the party had a piece of cake.
3. We should use every after these words ‘nearly’ and ‘not’.

Nearly every shop is shut today.

Not every taxi driver is on strike today.
4. We cannot use  ‘of’ after ‘every’ and we cannot use ‘every’ at the end of a sentence.

Each of the children got a toy.

They got a toy each.

5. We can use every with a few uncountable nouns.

My granny gave me every encouragement when I was a child.
