Прийменник місця on використовується для позначення поверхні та має значення «зверху», «на чому-небудь»:
on the table — на столі;
on the blackboard — на дошці;
on the wall — на стіні;
on the ceiling — на стелі;
on the roof — на даху;
on the map — на мапі;
on a bicycle — на велосипеді;
on the first floor — на першому поверсі;
on the balcony — на балконі.
Зверни увагу!
On the way (to) — по дорозі (куди-небудь);
але: on the way home/here — по дорозі додому/сюди (без прийменника).
