To speak about health, you need the appropriate vocabulary. Part 6
Health - the condition of the body and the degree to which it is free from illness, or the state of being well;
Wealth - a large amount of money or valuable possessions that someone has;
Affect - to have an influence on someone or something, or to cause a change in someone or something;
Heart disease - a medical condition affecting the heart;
Lung disease - a lung disease that results from breathing in coal or carbon dust over a long period of time;
Pneumonia - a serious illness in which one or both lungs become red and swollen and filled with liquid;
Cough - to force air out of your lungs through your throat with a short, loud sound;
Skip meals - avoid eating regularly;
Overeating - eating too much;
Obese - extremely fat in a way that is dangerous for health;
Fast food - hot food such as hamburgers that is quick to cook or is already cooked and is therefore served very quickly in a restaurant;
Lead - (especially in sports or other competitions) to be in front, to be first, or to be winning.
Examples:
Regular exercise is good for your health.
I had to give up drinking for health reasons.
Researchers are looking at how a mother's health can affect the baby in the womb.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in many Western countries.
People who are bedridden can easily get pneumonia.
She was not just overweight; she was clinically obese.
