The Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is a stretch of South Las Vegas Boulevard in Clark County, Nevada that is known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos. The Strip, about 6.8 km long, sits immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester but is often referred to as being in Las Vegas.

Kilauea

Kilauea is an active shield volcano in the Hawaiian Islands that last erupted between 1983 and 2018. Historically, Kilauea is the most active of the five volcanoes that together form the island of Hawaii. Located along the southeastern shore of the island, the volcano is between 210,000 and 280,000 years old and emerged above sea level about 100,000 years ago.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is a group of three waterfalls at the southern end of Niagara Gorge, spanning the border between the US state of New York and the Canadian province of Ontario. The largest of the three is Horseshoe Falls, also known as Canadian Falls. The smaller American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls lie entirely within the United States.

The Horseshoe Falls drop about 57 metres while the height of the American Falls varies between 21 and 30 metres. The larger Horseshoe Falls are about 790 metres wide, while the American Falls are 320 metres wide. The distance between the American extremity of the Niagara Falls and the Canadian extremity is 1039 metres.

The Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the 1.6 km wide strait connecting San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. The structure links the U.S. city of San Francisco, California to Marin County. The bridge is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco, California, and the United States. It was initially designed by engineer Joseph Strauss in 1917. At the time of its opening in 1937, it was both the longest and the tallest suspension bridge in the world, with a main span of 1,280 m and a total height of 227 m. Construction began on January 5, 1933 and was finished and opened on May 27, 1937.
