The successful aeroplane flights of the Americans Orville and Wilbur Wright in 1903 marked the beginning of the aviation industry. After these flights, the Wright brothers tried to interest the U.S. and various European governments buying the design for their plane. But they had never made an official public flight, and government leaders were not convinced that their plane fly.
The Wright brothers their official public flight in 1908 and amazed the world with their flying ability. That same year, the U.S. Army ordered a specially built Wright plane. This was the first military plane.
